Honestly, bad cookies should be punishable by law.

We had a cookie drive yesterday at church for the Children's Ministry, and by the time the kids and I got there, we only had about 5 different ones to choose from--2 types of oatmeal cookies, some spritz sugar cookies, a really nice one that was kind of like a vanilla wafer and butterscotch haystacks.

They were all fine, but I'm not a big fan of cookies that make me feel like my teeth are going to break off. One of the oatmeal cookies was just plain bad, the other was only slightly redeemed by the fact that chocolate chips were added.

In my opinion, these oatmeal cookies here : http://www.recipezaar.com/Best-Oatmeal-Cookies-54351 beat the asses of the other oatmeal cookies to a bloody pulp. I don't put the raisins in and opt to not add salt since I don't use unsalted butter. They are very good, extremely soft, and I usually add more cinnamon.

Also, PUBLISHING recipes of bad cookies should also be a crime. I found a pretty terrible recipe for shortbread, which was so unnaturally crumbly that they couldn't even bake properly. Bleh. Of course, my daughter hates them because they're not worthy of a trip to a dentist, but oh well.

Yeah, and I'm leaving this post unlocked for a reason, so if someone googles "Lake County Greek Festival" they can see this post.

DON'T GO!

The husband and I were hoping to go to have some fun and eat yummy Greek food. Guess what? The church charged everyone that parked on THEIR lot $10 for parking. Then, since we had kids with us, we had to buy "ride" tickets for them. I spent $10 on those tickets as well, and they only wound up able to get on TWO inflatables and then we had two tickets left over that we couldn't use for anything and so we were out two bucks for no good reason. One of the inflatables was a two story high Titanic slide that you get to go down once for $2, and the other was this weird inflatable crap that you ran around on also for $2.

The only thing I could say is it could be worthwhile is if you went as a single or a couple without kids, only for the food experience. By the way, we never got to eat because we spent all the money we had (I was the only one carrying a wallet) on PARKING (whee!!!) and crappy inflatables. Bah!

I started working on a paid-to-click site, and I'll post occasionally to see how it's progressing.

I looked it up on line in some places, and they said the $10 upgrade was worth it and would give you over 500 ads once the payment was processed.

I'm posting because 1) I personally want to keep track of my payments and progress and 2) it might be a worthwhile thing for some of you who may be looking for a little something every once in a while.

This link is mine: http://www.clixsense.com/?2526081

So far I've made a little over a dollar since Friday, but upgrading could give me the potential to view more ads and cash in quicker.

The pay out is only $10, but obviously takes some time when most ads are only a penny. Fortunately, I can turn one on, walk away and so on. If I get bored (aka "need to do something else and am procrastinating"), it's something I can do too.

I'll update on the upgrade, and then when I get the check, which will be issued on Sept 10th.

ETA: I got the upgrade, so we'll see how it goes.

But I just set up my phone for text lj for when I go to the hospital (again, if I make it there). This morning the neighbors were selling their daughter's old infant car seat. We needed one in a big, bad way and I asked how much they wanted for it. Milan wouldn't take any money, so I'll probably buy him a case of beer (I mean have Alex--yeah, that would look good) or something this week. :)

I would like to buy a larger pack of disposables, just for now, because I don't know how up to washing diapers either myself or my mom who will be here will want to do it. This doesn't mean I won't do it at all, but hell, it's not like we'll have laundry service at the hospital. Needless to say, I'm still amazed at you girls who 100% cloth ALL THE TIME. I'm not going to travel a lot with this infant, also given the fact that there are two other kids--I guess it's just a kink I'll have to work out.

I'm very unimpressed with the condition of my house, but my iron levels are still wonky enough that I'm not up to doing the amount of housework I need to do. Today I peeled more of Alyssa's wallpaper--my parents will be staying in her room when they get here and I'm not happy about 3 walls being pink and one being peeling pink, white and paste brown. I hope I can get that done. If the bathrooms get done, it will be a miracle. If the hallway gets done too, that would be a double miracle.

A lady at church said I won't make it to my due date. I believe her.
