you take it on faith, you take it to the heart...

Do you think I am asking too much?
There seems to be some ambiguity about who I am.

Besides having a legal name with both an apostrophe and a hyphen, I am a married mother of three kids and a spirit baby. I'm also a Believer, but other than that I don't adapt well to labels. I left my holistic medical doctor because he wanted me to give up coffee and I realized he didn't know more about me than I knew about myself.

I've brushed with death twice in my life, both times involving green automobiles. It's not just luck that I'm alive, it's a miracle. I don't really believe in accidents or coincidences.

Right now I'm at a time in my life when I feel both starry-eyed and completely realistic. It's a contradiction that sucks, but it is what it is.

I consider myself a mother/baby advocate. I've had three natural births (one at home--on purpose!) and by far it's the most empowering thing I've ever done for myself.

There are about 5 albums I really, really love. Queen 2 (even though I think everyone should give A Night at the Opera and Innuendo at least one listen), Concrete Blonde's Mexican Moon, Pat Benatar's Crimes of Passion, No Exit by Blondie, and Heart's Dreamboat Annie. But on my perpetual playlist are "Caramel" by Suzanne Vega, "Closing Time" by Leonard Cohen (I could watch the video repeatedly, Perla and Julie are gorgeous!), a whole boatload of assorted Cyndi Lauper, Divinyls and Ani DiFranco songs, "Amazing" by Johnette Napolitano, and the list goes on.

I published my first novel, (This Is) Whatever You Are in January 2014. I am currently working on my second, The Odds. My first is available on Amazon either in paperback or Kindle form.

I support underdog ships, because I like to believe anything is possible.

You can also find me on facebook, twitter, tumblr and Instagram as calienteyfria.
